Default I think it worked..first air attempts

Here are my first attempts.
Done in createx opaques and PH Martin Inks. Jacob is the second airbrushing I have done. Courtney is the third one. The sealer I used was from a can and stinks. and I had the flash on so I paid for it in quality photos. These are redi-tags that I did for kids rooms. I really do not like those tags now after doing them. Way to small and I like detail.
Woo Hoo I think it worked this time.

C&C, I have to compliment you on both of these.. it's so clever what you did reversing the letter color on Jacob's tag--that would make a sane man goofy!! & I love the ribbon lettering on Courtney's..I have a lot of difficulty being critical of work like this as it's small & consideration has to be given for that.. I think you've done a very nice job here & would encourage you to continue with airbrushing because you certainly show that you can do it..

Thank you Darla,
That is the one thing I really dislike about them tags. They are so small. That color effect reverse thingy on JACOB's was a on the spot decision. The ribbon lettering I really love doing but never again on anything that small.
Thank you for the words, I cannot wait to show you my next redi-tag (and the last one of these I will do I hope.)
I have a question for you or anyone else -
My next real project is a sign for that will say "CAMPFIRE WOOD FOR SALE $2.50" and a campfire with some flames coming up.
The guy wants this done on a piece of aluminum (I found this at a hardware store to size 3' x 5').
Starting with the aluminum - Am I correct in these steps..
1 - sand sign down with 800 or so.
2 - primer
3 - base coat
4 - stencil and sand again the spots Im painting.
5 - clear coat.
It sounds right in my head but I am charging for this one so I want it to be right and last.
And once again thank you Darla, I have read your posts and am real happy that you like those plates.

C&C--aluminum is a tough challenge, but only because it's important to get a good primer & base coat applied so you don't have trouble with adhesion & peeling down the road--especially in cold temperatures..check with Sherwin Williams & they can connect you with both primer & colored top coat..a KILZ primer would probably do it, & for sign work I always used their industrial enamel top coat..This was awhile ago & I know there are lots of new products out there.. As for the painting--go wild & have fun!! Depending on what paint you use to letter with, you may need a clear coat to finish with.. Sherwin Williams can help you with all 3 products..Talk with someone you feel knows what he's talking about..I'm not sure about your step #4-- After lettering & placing artwork, I wouldn't sand again--you don't need this sign to look as perfect as a car body (sanding & buffing isn't necessary)--it's only a sign & although you need to strive to do it as well as possible, when it's hung you will notice very few imperfections..this is a sweet job-- the size is perfect & you have a chance here to strut some of your stuff..this is a real do-able job & it will turn out fine.. If you have problems with layout get back with me & I might be able to help with that..

The only thing that I would venture to add to Miss Darla, would be to get a really good Cleaner/Degreaser and clean the whole piece before and after you sand. Then paint like mad!!! Just to keep your paint from peeling on down the road.

Congrats and don't forget to post it when you're through.
