Default i need help.

i'm using auto air paints to paint a r/c fiberglass boat. my brush spit wjile painting and splattered color where its not supposed to be so i tried to dab it up with a wet rag. this screwed up the flourecent paint that was supposed to be there as well as the white base coat. so i repainted that area but now you can see the ridges where the paint was damaged when the light hits it. it looks like bondo that was left unsanded. this paint doesn't sand well so how do i fi this? i'm so pissed right now i'm about to turn the water hose on and wash all this stuff off and use re do it all with real paint. the problem is that i am half way done!

You might be able to level ot out with some intercoat clear.

thank you for the tip. but i think i've given up on the AA colors. they don't spray very well and there's no sanding out imperfections or spot repairing. maybe i'm doing something wrong with it but it seems like the only way to fix a flaw is to just keep adding more paint and that doesn't seam like a good thing.

Eggnegg is correct.
If you had put some intercoat clear down you wouldn't have had damage done to the lower layers. I learned this by trial and lots of error. Then I decided to try it and it works wonders.
Don't give up on AA, it really is a good product, it is just like any other paint, it takes time to learn how to use it.
Another thing I noticed is that AA will spit if you have any and I mean "any" water in your compressor or hose. A good water trap is a necessity.
I hope it all works out for you.

So whats the diffence between red, grey, and gold scotch brite pads and when would I use one before the other? I ask this because I'm about to start my first helmet. Please Help!

If you put down some intercoat you should be able to sand it and make it level.

They are like sandpaper with different grits - they should have some type of label as to fine .med, course, etc. test them out on a panel and see what they do at different pressures.

there is also a green scotchpad....I use it most the time..
the difference in the colors of the pads are the same as different grits on sand paper.....
Depending on the color....as to what roughness of the pad, and how much scratch will result.

I believe most people use the red on their projects....just from reading many post in the past......
Hope this helps

Wink Re: i need help.

thanks for the help guys, i did decide to re-do it with the AA colors and this time i will use the intercoat. i'm still fairly new to airbrush so pardon my ignorance... but is the intercoat something that i can pick up at my local auto body supply shop or is it a HOK product? i have seen the HOK on the internet but i'd like to avoid ordering it. its actually kind of a good thing that i started over because this time i shot a couple of coats of urethane clear so it will be a little more forgiving with razor marks. thanks again!
