Default How to mount paintings

I have couple paintings made on bristol paper that are quite big, 60cm-100cm, and they aren't "good" enough to have framed because that's so expensive, but I'd still like to have them mounted on something to be able to handle them, hang them, show them... What would be a good thing and way to mount these? Glue them to plywood or what? I've read about mounting boards for art but haven't found anything like that in Finland, but maybe the local art club can help me there.

They can dry mount things but that cost $$ to (Glue it to foam or hard boad). I would shop the thrift and yard/garage sales looking for old frames. You can paint/faux finish the frame, buy mat board and a hand cuter ($10) and cut the mat yourself. Glass would be the most expensive part but could be left out, I don't think there are any real low low coat solutions, but could be wrong...

NOTE: If you go the frame route, do google on the subject as to how. Always mount your picutre with a tape hindge, do not tape at top and bottom, it has to be able to expand and contract or will wrinkle

I recall that those big stores like Ikea and so on sell a picture frame type thing in a range of different sizes. They are cheap, because they are simple. You might have seen them, the backing is plain hardboard, and then a sheet of perspex covers the picture, and is held in place by small metal clips around the perimeter. I saw them in Woolworths recently, but I'm pretty sure Ikea, do them as well.

Make some corner brakets out of poster board or card board, like the old fashioned stick on brackets that were used in the old photo albums, make em big enough to hold the paintings, and then measure out on a large board or cardboard where they should be placed, glue em on, and then place the paintings in em.

Yeah aixguy there is Woolworths here in the UK still, we have one in our little town (pop 6000) on the high street, and all in all it's not a bad little store, of course not in the same guise as it was long ago, they have some not bad stuff now! They even have Wii's and cell phones on their shelves!!
