How To Make Stencil
HELLO TO ALL
I AM NEW HERE AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER DOING A FORUM. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE MY OWN STENCILS FOR BODY TATTOOS. I MAINLY NEED HELP ON DOING ONE THAT INVOLVES CUTTING OUT A STENCIL THAT IS A WORD LIKE "BEARS". CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME EXACT DETAILS AND THE MATERIALS I WILL NEED? ALSO WHAT IS A DOUBLE STENCIL? THE TWO ATTACHMENTS BELOW ARE THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE A STENCIL OR TRANSFER FOR. I AM NOT SURE OF MY OPTIONS SO I WILL TAKE ALL. THIS WILL BE FOR A SCHOOL FAIR? I AM DOING IT FOR FREE, SO WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST AND LEAST EXPENSIVE FACE PAINT I COULD USE? IT NEEDS TO DRY FAST AND REALLY DOES NOT HAVE TO LAST VERY LONG. SORRY SO LENGTHY. THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP AND UNDERSTANDING QUESTIONS OF BEGINNERS.......MILISSA

Re: How To Make Stencil
to transfer your image to the shirt you could trace the back side off the paper with vine charcole , lay the image on the shirt"charcole side down" and rub the paper on the shirt "carful not to move the image.... that will give you a guide line of you image , you'll have to shoot it freehand so i hope your fundamentals are good ..and becareful the charcole will blow off leaving you guessing where your line goes...
good luck !!! post some pics

Re: How To Make Stencil
oldest trick i know of is pouncing
you trace or project your image onto paper or what ever, then you use either a pouncing wheel (or electric pouncer) to trace over the lines of the image which pokes little holes in the paper. you then use a gym sock filled with talcum or baby powder to dust over the wholes which leaves little washable marks on what ever you are transferring to. you could also use a beeding needle to do this manually all along the lines but it will take forever.
you can get a decent poucing wheel fo under 10$ for finer detail you may want to look into an electric pouncer.

Re: How To Make Stencil
Hi MILISSA, best thing to use for BODY TATS is thin ascetate ( sp ) and a pointed exacto knife, this material is flexible so it will contour to the body ( somewhat ) and it will last forever. Draw your design on the ascetate then carefully cut it with the exacto knife, these are readily available at most craft stores, ie. Michaels, JoAnn fabrics. As for paint, you need to make sure you use paint specially formulated for temporary tatoos, some of the other types are toxic to the skin, this is available online at Dixieart.com , Bearair.com. I would not reccommend using anything other than paint for tatoos, TOO risky. Hope this helps.
