Default Hola All

hey everyone. name is Randy. got the name blueflameguy from a tattoo artist that was bad with names, so he always called people by the work he did on em... ive had my paasche VL for over a year now but havent really got to use it much. too much moving and not having a place to do it.... trying to get back into it now. im from around Houston Tx, anyone out here?

thanks for putting the site together, ive already found alot of good information....

Hello blueflame--Your Paasche VL is an excellent airbrush & the one I would recommend most beginners to learn with..Get some good quality white paper towels (Viva) --check into some of the lessons offered on this site & see if you can't teach yourself to airbrush..I think our forum & Don's magazines have had an excellent success rate in teaching people to airbrush.. I'm not far from Houston but rarely go there--it's just too big of a city for me..If I'm not mistaken your area is crawling with young airbrush artists--check into some of the flea markets & see if you can connect with someone who can give you some personal lessons..not much teaches you quite like watching it done in progress..Good luck to you with this & welcome to the forum..

thanks darla,

im actually about 45 miles north east of houston, but no one really knows where it is . i was hoping someone was from the area so i could do like you suggest and watch and learn a bit. ive about got a good place set up here, so as soon as i do ill be painting like crazy

EDIT: oh and i forgot to mention, im using createx paints..... have near all the colors they put out. after reading here, i sure wish i had found this site before i bought all those. some are thick, some thin. and i have yet to really figure out what psi to spray at. i was told when i first got the AB to spray at 35psi. now, it seems to change almost everytime.....

PSI will probably vary from paint to paint and day to day--especially for a beginner. i use an inline pressure regulator in addition to my compressor's regulator to fine tune air pressure near my paint guns. 2 suggestions that may make life easier for you: get some airbrush medium to thin your paints to the same consistency, and strain all your paint through a fine mesh like a piece of pantyhose before running it through your brush. i found that made my life much easier anyway .

Hope this helps.
