Default Help with a skull with flames...

Hello all,
I am airbrushing a skull on to a white background, now this looks reall nice when I sketch it freehand onto my background using black to shadow and suchforth, my concern is that I want some orange/red/yellow flames, and am curious how I should work on the skull. The flames will appear to be coming off the skull as if it was flying forward. So if I keep the skull black and the flames orange/red/yellow, this would look funny I think. Any suggestions on what colors to do the skull with the shading? Thank you very much!

simple... do a google search on the images tab for FLAMING SKULL, and do a search here on the same keywords.... it is a concept that has been done many of times in many a fashion, find one you like and learn from it. Hope this helps.

Keep the area of the skull (that the flames will be coming from ) very faint so that you can blend your yellow, orange, and red into the skull. Issue # 12 of Airbrush Techniques has a nice skull with flames on the cover and a story describing the process
