Default Help...Needle/Nozzle Quest???

I have an iwata hp-cs about 6 wks old. Using ComArt transp paint for a month now the brush worked flawlessly, then while depressing Air Only was getting some paint through, i cleaned the nozzle with hot water/toothpick, cleaned the needle real good. Still Didnt fix the prob...so i guess i need either a needle or a nozzle right???...This is the 1st time getting a new nozzle/needle.....How often do they have to be replaced???...i was always carfull when reinstalling needle after cleaning.... I CANT PRACTICE WITH NO WORKING AIRBRUSH....thanx all

Hmm,,,i sounds like still have some dirt inside the nozzle,,
the needle can't come out as i should, that makes that you get
paint coming out when i shouldn't,
pour some cleaning liquid in the cup and pull back the needle some
and backflush, meaning that you cover the opening (needle cap) with your finger this will make the liuqid go back to the cup (bubbles)
or you can have the needle in place with losen lock nut and spin it gently
and then spray again,,,
Hope this was to any help.

Rynz, this is a similar problem I have quite often, with my CH I get paint drying in the tip chamber, if i'm not efficient enough in cleaning the brush this ends up going hard and causing all sorts of problems.
Took me ages to find the exact cause, was a total hidden pain.

this is strange as i havent had this problem with my CS. Although i am pretty anal about making sure its clean and that paint doesnt stay in it too long and if i think i will be taking a break i will dump the paint out of the color cup into an epoxy cup and rinse and backflush before taking my break. then when i come back i just dump the epoxy cup back into the brush and go for it. i hope i dont end up with this problem, although i did have a problem one time of the needle being froze in place because i didnt clean well enough. never happened again.

i hope that kimmo's advice can get you up and running again, and maybe if it keeps happening, try what i said and see if that works. i treat all paints in my brush like ticking time bombs waiting to go off inside and muck up my paint job, but thats just me

You maybe pushing the tooth pick or needle too far into the nozzle, opening the hole in the end so the needle is not seating correctly. The nozzles get damaged more often from cleaning than use. Just another learning curve.

I have an Iwata Eclpse BCS and the first time I used it for three hours straight then took out the needle to clean it. After putting it back together it then was a single action airbrush. I pushed it in to firm and upended up the hole more on the nozzle. To fix this when I got the new needle and nozzle I had to spray water and with a very, VERY light touch pushing the needle in while twisting it to seat the needle against the new nozzle. Got my double action back and learned a good lesson.

im not sure if this might help and im sure some probably already do it but the way i clean by gun is when im doing work i of course clean after each paint i spray airbrush cleaner 1st then some water then some alcohol to dry out the water i do not remove my needle after every color unless absoloutly have to cause of risk of expanding the nozzle as for when my work is done i take my gun apart and with a mixture of some AB cleaner water and some alcohol i drop it in a sonic cleaner for about 4 cycles of 4 minutes each then while putting back together i relube the needle a little so some can lube the inner barrel then relube where the trigger goes into and also the piston wher the whose attaches try and hit every moveing part then before i start my next job give it a quick spray with just air to spray out excess lube if any and ready to go
well i hope this helps someone out just my way works for me might work for whoever doesnt hurt in trying new methods
