The VL is a fine T Shirt, craft airbrush it is not the first choice of those doing art on hard surfaces. Take a look a the gravity feed line of airbrushs by Iwata, Badger or Passche the three major manufactures.

PSI is determind by the type of paint you are using with the VL
Have fun its just paint

I have some Dr. Martin Translucent Inks I have been running through a Badger 100sg and they go awesome. They are touchy and run easy but they go on good. I lowered my pressure down to 10 - 15 range for them and found that is working good.

hi,
tryed lowering the pressure to around 15psi and it ran smooth, hope to put some pics up soon but just playing about still to get the feel of the airbrush.
i was hopeing to subscribe to the mags but have to save up a bit first as i had to sell my sole to get the ab`s,as i dont work i look after my disabled daughter (8 years old) so money is very tight still ,
im hopeing that airbrushing will make me a bit of cash in the future because its something i can do at home will she is chilling out .thanks for all your help and ill keep at it dave b.

sorry a lil late to your post ... when reading it I was gonna say try lowering your psi but i see you found that out!!! if you get a chance $ wise try golens ab colors...or check out the product review. alot of helpful tips..I to have a 155 and love the goldens but I havent really painted hard surfaces yet...very good for practice tho..

You may also consider the surface you are painting on. I practice on poster board. It’s cheap and the glossy side is similar to hard surfaces. It also spiders easy if your pressure is too high. The rough side is easier to control the paint, but collects more over spray. It also makes good stencil material and shield material. I also recommend the Golden AB colors for starting out.
