Hello from the Great NorthWet!
Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Mike and I am from Vancouver, Washington. I have been airbrushing for oh.......4 hours total. Anyway, my wife got me a Airbrush city GD102 Gravity Feed and an Airbrush City model 1104 as some starter brushes. I restore vintage motorcycles for fun and she knew I wanted to get into doing some custom painting on them.
I have been practicing my dagger strokes, lines, dots and 'c's, but wanted to take a break and do something 'fun'. So here is my first attempt at a painting. I did it on newsprint and made a LOT of mistakes, but I had fun doing it. Let me know what you think. I am not the best and don't sketch anything more than a stick figure, so please bear with me. Hopefully, I will get as good at this as some of the artwork I have seen.
Thanks!

Re: Hello from the Great NorthWet!
Thanks Snazee! I am trying to practice at least an hour or two every night. I also have about 6 motorcycles I am in the process of restoring, so those have to get done too. Once those are out of my hair, I plan on spending more time on the airbrush.
I spend about an hour doing lines, daggers, etc. Then do something fun while trying to apply those skills. I am currently working on another one for my daughter as she loves horses. She saw the one above and about had a cow when I told her it was for her mother. (She is seven).

good stuff
the main thing is that you enjoy it, the more you do the better the results.

Welcome mike.
As others will tell ya... "we all start out as begginers"
Motivation and patience will be my insight for anyone that picks up an airbrush.
Keep up the good work man.

Re: Hello from the Great NorthWet!
Thanks guys. Sometimes I look at forums like these and get intimidated by the fantastic artwork that are produced. Some claim they have only been airbrushing for a few months to years. While I know I am generally artistically challenged. I also know the value of practice and determination.

Re: Hello from the Great NorthWet!
Hello from Ohio. Not bad, everybody has "my first" at everything so dont worry if its good or bad, just paint. What i like to do is divide my paper into 4 section, dots, daggers, lines, and a picture. Some times free hand, other times using quick stenciles. The picture represents or is based on a tchnique I found in a mag, book, or on the web. Ill practice that until Ive become comfortable with the process. Anyway, welcome to the boards. Good air and no clogs
