Glow in the dark powder
Hello,
I create star ceilings with glow in the dark paint. To get the results even better I was thinking to use a airbrush, the paint wich I use is way to thick for a airbrush. So I need to mix glow in the dark powder with a clear airbrush medium.
My question is wich airbrush do I need to spray/airbrush (also ceilings) and wich nozzle should I use.
I can’t find any answhers about these questions in any onlineforum . Hopefully are you willing to help
Kind regards from The Netherlands
Roy

Hi Roy
I believe a Passche VL would work,it comes with 3 different sizes of needles and nozzel,it's bottom feeded though, but you can use the color cup that
comes with it when spraying at ceilings it's adjustable,,take a look at
"Reviews" at the top on this site there you can look at differnt airbrushes,
i think you can use the largest needle and nozzle to you paints

Re: Glow in the dark powder
Hello Kimmo,
Someone told me it's better to use a gravity feed. It would be better because i mix a powder with a medium. And with a gravity feed the change that the powder is going down to the bottom is smaller.
Is this kind of paasche also in gravity, and can i move the cup if i have spray/airbrush a ceiling?
Thanx sofar

it's kind of both,if you look at the pic i posted you can see a smaller metall cup, this you attache to the brush and you'll have the colorcup at the side of the airbrush,,that way you can adjustit to any angle so the color remain in the color cup,,like when spraying horizontal or vertical,,i have one myself,
the good thing is that you have 3 different needles depending on how thick your paints are,,nowadays i use mine
to spray clearcoat on smaller objects,,

Thanx for your fast response. Wich clear medium would you advise to mix the powder with. And are there any tips against clotting if you mix powder with a medium?

Re: Glow in the dark powder
Logic dictates if you plan on spraying straight or almost straight up you need a bursh that has a cup that moves. Other wise you will paint the top of your head when the paint fall out or the cup. A side feed would be the most logical type of brush for this purpose. Which one would depend on the size of the pigment. Since this is powerder I would assume you will need a fairly big nozzle .5 -.7 maybe. just a guess.. good luck!
