Default getting CSA approved

In regards to goalie masks, etc. Most teams require the masks to be CSA approved.
Does anyone have any info on becoming a CSA approved painter?

Hey custom. gotta admit, dont know exactly what CSA is. we tried to get approved by ITECH many years ago and they did not want to increase the number (4) of artists that they would "certify". went through the whole application process but no dice. Can you give us any info on CSA?

I don't know what you have to do to become CSA approved. What I did was asked questions and watched how the pros painted their masks, then use the same techniques to paint my customers masks. That way I know I'm not going to do something to compromise the integrity of the mask and affect it's durability.

I also do not remove any CSA or safety stickers (that are usually found on the back plate). I'll either leave the back plate unpainted, or paint it to match the rest of the mask but mask out the stickers so they are still there to be seen when I'm finished.

As far as I know if you paint using the proper procedures/techniques, the mask is still CSA approved. But this could be a more serious issue with professional teams perhaps?...

Dean.
