for a freind, hubcaps

most of you remember the hubcaps I flamed for a raffle to raise $ for a freind's wife who is waiting for lung and liver transplants. Well I've become closer with her and her hubby, we chat alot in an IM and he calls about every other day. (I think its to get a laugh ) Anyway, he called yesterday morning, then called again at 1230, and asked if I was sitting down, ok, I am. She had just called and docs had a 3 set that had just been made available, he was on his way to her hospital in cleveland.
After making sure they were a match, she went into surgery last night around 9pm, its a 14-16 hr surgery.
So we are all waiting for the word she's out and doing well. So if you have an extra good vibes, thoughts and prayers, could you send them her way? And to the donor's family for their generosity.

My thoughts are with you and the family. I know how hard it is to develop a friendship with someone, only to see them have to go through this. My grandfather had a liver transplant some 14 years ago at a great center in Dallas. He is one of the longest, post transplant patients around. So while risky, it can have some great benefits and can give the family a second chance to spend times with their loved one. As a result, our entire family have become organ donors. We see it as a good way to let your spirit keep doing good for others.

Anyways, I am hoping they are about out of surgery and that everything went well and they experience a speedy recovery.

thanks freinds~ she made it out of surgery around 9am, the organs were are perfect match so surgery went faster. Hubby says she resting and hopes to go see her soon.
She is very spunky and wants to watch her son grow up. When hubby called today, I could here some relief in his voice~ She now has at least 3 months before she can go back home. But the next few days and weeks will be very critical.

The hubcaps you did for the raffle was a wonderful gift. I know everyone
wanted those hubcaps! Its so cool both of your families are close and in touch. When someone is going through a very stressful and serious illnes,
and waiting and waiting, and dealing with doctors and insurance etc, all
of you and your friends helped them feel better.
I am very happy to hear everything was a match and a success.
I wish your friend a speedy recovery.

just an update, she's doing excellent! they even let her move out of the hosp saturday night.She's in a local apt with her mom. They (drs) are amazed at how fast she is recovering, determination , family and strong faith has helped alot!

thought I'd let ya'll know,with these surgeries, folks usually don't go home for at least 8-12weeks. But,,,,,,
She went home today! WOOHOO!!!! her rejection was mild, and she has been going shopping with her mom and aunt while stayin close to hosp, but today she went back to NY! Hubby is really excited to have her home again! this has been a very long 2years for them!
She will have regular check ups, but things are going great at the moment~
just wanted to share the joy!
