freehand practice piece
I like to freehand but need lots of work on it so I try to practice more than other tech's....I did use a freehand shield that i made for some of the flames tho....any tips?

Question? did you want realistic flames or cartoon flames?
however I like bubbling paint cup and the chrome colors!!!

I was tryin realistic and then said forget it and just finished them...I dont like to stop a pic cause of a screw up..I try to finish it anyway...

Finishing is a good thing like you had said. I thought you might have tryed for real flames.
Mayhem you might leave out the black unless you are painting on black. Than black would be ok. Over all good JOB!!!

no prob hdale  I do believe he means use other colors for your outlines..if thats the case it makes sense to me that way your pic doesnt look like its out of a coloring book....witch mine does lol
I think anyway.....

Leaving the black outline out unless painting on a black back ground.
Black with free hand shield to sharpin the fuzzy edges, that's all.

I like the cartoon effect I think if you were trying for the cartoon look then the black outline works.. I also think that the flames (again if it is suppose to be a cartoon) would have looked out of place if the were true flames. However if you were going for a realistic look the I agree that you should have left out the black lines.. When you outline with black it start to look like a coloring book.. Just my 2 cents but I really like it GOOD JOB..
