I haven't had luck with flame, but I think you need less flames just a couple two or three and then overlap. Looks like your out of room for the second set. I've watched the videos and they usually use white and overlap with red and then again with yellow. Start with the sides and then with the second layer go in the middle.
Hope I helped you out.

from what I have found,

1st layer of flame is just a rough draft of the flame and is also the furthest away from the view point less detail no template needed for hard lines, this layer is normally darker red'ish.

2nd layer is alittle tighter in design a little brighter like orange, and more defined shapes.

3rd layer is more defining the 2nd layers attributes (curves / hard edges ) but not completely covering the 2nd layer, possably in yellow or bright orange.

4th layer is more hot-spot / high-light brighter yellow or white.

I didn't spend allot of time on this, spend more time thinking about flow and
layout and it will look allot better then this example. on #4 I put some transpartent red dusting over most of it to bring it together alittle.

done with createx black, opaque red, transparent orange, transparent yellow, transparent red, and white. with a master g26 on a 11 by 14 lyon's canvas.

at least that's how I have been doing mine. :/ probilly wrong lol

of course you can use kandies or over redused colors ( as kandies ) in between the layers to bring them together.

I found this guy on youtube very helpful, this is the link to the first video, there are 3 in all, his name is ed hubbs. if the link doesn't work, just type in ed hubbs true fire into the utube search engine.

Hey now Ralph. found a couple of old white flame patterns lying around the shop. The back of a metal chair and a panel I did for a quick demo a while ago. Keep in mind there are a bunch of ways to do these and you just gotta find your fit. Based on how you are going now, with the white base, these may help. Remember, there are many shades/intensities of white.

Hey Ralph you got some pretty good tips here i just finished trying fire myself, layering is the key... those patterns that TABG posted are definitely a great start. Thanks TABG, usually (for me at least) the hardest part of fire is laying out the first layer this will help.
