Default Fender for Friend

This is my project for the day....doing this for a friend. Love to practice on someone elses tins....hopefully get good enough one day to shoot mine..

Still have to work on my lighting...and my really fine lines need more practice....

He wants flames wrapped around the sculls and then I will shoot it with a Blue Kandy......

Looks good, I like it so far. I am curious if you should have made such a crisp outline at the top of the skull if you are going to wrap it in flames, won't that be harder to blend ?

I will have to tell you tomorrow when I shoot the flames....you have mistaken me for someone who thinks of these things before he starts!

My flames are a joke...don't have the proper stencils and wasn't sure how to make the proper curves...gave up on the idea and came up with this (enclosed picture)....Created a new problem...I lightly wet sanded the whole thing after I took this picture and there are very small pin hole white areas that surfaced...obviously i sanded thru and thought I was being careful...I tried to shoot another thin layer of Kandy over it and they are still there...am i up a creek? Anyone with any ideas? Don't want to shoot the clear at this point.

Sounds like silicon or dirt yoda. did you give it a really through clean before working on it?
Did you use grease and oil remover?

Now, after a light touch with wet 2000 or something close, did you use a fine brillo (steel wool) to remove the scratch highlights from the sand paper?

Lastly, have you cleared it yet? it's amazing what a nice second flood coat of clear can hide.

let me know yoda

Pin holes could also be solvent pop. If you are using uros that is. Did you give it enough flash time? Use proper reducer for temps? And what was the booth temp when you shot it? All may be contributing factors. I try to shoot at 70 degrees F anything under 65 and I wont do it, even with fast reducer I dont trust it. AL
