Default Discuraging

I had rims and tires put in my truck i painted last fall and the guy said how much would you charge to paint something like that. $8,000 i kinda chuckled well i have about 2,500 -3,000 just in paint. Paint that much stuff on that big and area isnt as easy as one would think.

I would honestly think that somthing like that paint job would go for $15,000

I think $8,000 is a fair price, gross. I woulda told em about all the work that goes into the prep, and then what goes into the actual painting first, then told em the price. People just don't realize the type of work it takes to do something like your truck.

Did you paint a single color or do you have graphics and stuff on it? We do quite a few full paints on vehicles and they rarely go over 10 G. Only a select few people are willing to spend that kind of cash. We actually just finished a truck for a fella who had 4G max to spend. Thing looks mint. Didnt use the most expensive paint and not the best clear available, but it is a guality job that I stand by and the customer loves it. Sometimes you have to work within a customers budget. Top of the line? 10-15 grand? You bet its worth it, but dont get discouraged over the folks who dont recognize the difference between a $5000 job and a $15000 job. Their everywhere. Just try to educate them as to the differences.

Once again, it comes down to folks having no idea how long and to what expense a job like that runs. I gotta be honest. I would have a hard time letting that go for 8 as well. But if making a bit less gets you another killer job on the streets for more people to see then maybe its worth it? Tough decision to make and one that I'm sure all of us have had to deal with at one time or another.
