The day from hell
Ok, so maybe i'm exaggerating a little, but it has really been horrid!
To start, up at 5am, normal routeen, so far so good.
Heading to my first job I loose the front brakes on the car, the front left disc breaks apart and we're now hitting the wall.
It was to be a very hot and busy day already, this is not helping. Anyway, I manage to limp the car slowly to my brothers shop and we begin surgery.
As it is a nasty day getting worse my brother hands me the keys to the "rent a bomb" so I can try and catch up, I get 5km's down the road and this old girl decides to throw a tantrum an overheat.
Ok, i'm thinking it cant get any worse than this now can it.
I make it to the clients, nothing goes right, I resign myself to the idea that this is just not going to happen, client agrees, I head back to the garage.
Brilliant! Rosie is back on the road and good to go, Now to get this day back on the rails!
Whilst leaving the garage, in a rush for a change, I twisted my right arm, normal action whilst reversing down a small alley, and it gives out on me! The next noise I heard wasn't one I like to hear.
SCRAPE!!
yup, my poor Rosie now has a nasty scratch and dent, so very unhappy now!
So after trying very hard to finish the day on a positive note without success I head home.
Whilst driving home I think to myself, "Self", I said, we can work with this!
So with airbrush in hand, my poor damaged Rosie in front of me I decided to do a quick cover up to hold the elements at bay untill she heads to the panel shop for "real" repairs.
What follows is what I came up with, and let me tell you something, the kids love it, and the good lady wife is out for my blood!

Re: The day from hell
Dude...that officially sucks. I can honestly say I have never heard of a single more eventful day without anyone getting seriously injured. I like the band-aid theme...but I know about unhappy wives after doing stupid stuff...
I hope you don't have a set of days like this again...

Re: The day from hell
Just shows that you are a guy that finds humor in everything. One day I'll have to share my story about my bike locking up on my way back from Colorado,my friend got a U haul truck ,and I drove the bike (knocking and all)into the truck, and straight through the front wall of the truck and shattered the back glass. Now I had two repairs to make. (Damn those Uhaul truck floors are slick! )Oh, and I lost my right hand (fiberglass) saddle bag on the way up from CC,Tx. I didn't find out until 90 miles later.(bike had $800 in leathers in it).I did ,however go back and to my surprise it was laying on the shoulder just in the grass.

Re: The day from hell
Everybody has their days but the way you dealt with it will put Dr. Phil to shame. I think it's really cool what you did to your vehicle. Like you though my wife wouldn't be to happy at first. Hey you didn't have to pay any insurance or collision costs!

I feel for your trip thru. the front- end of the U-HAUL truck but think that the bike sticking out of the front of the truck would make a nice painting
the part of your post after the slick floor statement did not show up until I click on "quote' I think that you add it after I reply but before I click on submit

Re: The day from hell
Explain to the wife that as long as you haven't clear coated the work then it will wipe off with some reducer...Just shake this day off and hang out with the kids for a couple of days...she will come around !

Re: The day from hell
good thinking Yoda, only one big huge problem though.
I like the way it looks and I can't wait to clear it next week, I was even thinking of doing the whole car, what better way to practice your skills and let people see what your doing.
Oops, Kathy is reading this over my shoulder, I am such a dead man now!!
Hopefully i'll be alive enough to post something else later tonight.
take care kids.
