Default createx paints-too old

Hey again everyone. Got another question. I am wondering how old is too old for createx paints? I think I had heard somewhere that 6 months was the max. I am using stuff way older than that. Also, it says to just thin with water and I am wondering how much is too much in terms of thinning. I don't want to go overboard with the thinning, but on the other hand I don't want to dump out all the old paint I have either. Thanks again for all the help.

I wouldn't dump anything..but I rarely thin with water..when I did some time ago it led to all kinds of clotting & nasty smelling mold..If its all thick & strange I would cut it with acrylic floor finish (I use Min-Wax, but it's about $14 a quart)--I've heard you can use Future acrylic floor polish sold at Walmart or groceries & I'm anxious to try that.. It would be a lot cheaper..I cut mine till it's creamy & smooth & if it needs further thinning I use Fantastic window spray--I've gotten away from water all together..I have a small battery operated hand mixer that I stir away with..I don't know how bad it is, but you might save all of it..

When I began using Createx paint, I used 10% of water max when I was working on paper, and was using Liquitex medium when I wanted to dilute more.

But at the end, I was using only Liquitex medium, and sometimes a bit of water if it was not diluted enough and needed just a bit more.

I have to admit I had to dilute the Createx paint to get good results when I was working on paper because of the lower pressure (20-25 psi) I was using. Undiluted, it was a paint to use.

I was working ok undiluted for t-shirts because of the higher pressure I was using for t-shirts (50-65 psi).

I loved the link gtech-- it was very informative to me.. I've been using this for about 4 months now & it's made a smoother flowing paint for me..thanks for the info..
