Cosmo Kramer on white T
Heres a T-shirt that I just completed. Wanted to have fun with a color portrait...as I was painting, I kept hearing ''gidyup!!!''
All createx paints on a 100% cotton prepared with some GAC900 from Golden.

Re: Cosmo Kramer on white T
This looks kick ass.
I have not yet tried a color portrait. I get discouraged when the thought of color mixing flesh colors comes to mind.
Well done

Did my surface prep with some GAC900 from Golden then heat set with hot iron.
Working with createx paints, I started with a base color made of some light brown, fluorescent magenta, golden yellow and a bit of flesh color... All mixed with some extender and some water. I'm working with my Iwata HP-SB and HP-C+ at roughly 35PSI
After the base was applied, I added some golden light and drk brown for the shadows, some red, some golden yellow, some more base, some white with a very small base color for the highlights. When done, back with the GAC900 then heat set with iron.
If you need more, let me know. I dont have my notes with me so I'm ind of going from the top of my head!!
Thanks
Luc

Thank you Don...it was fun to do. One of my favorite comedy show. I still watch the reruns. My wife bugs me about it. She says if I keep watching it, maybe its because I dont understand the jokes!!!
I wanted to add it to the gallery but it appears that i have run out of room!! I have to take something out to make room for it.
Thanks for mentionning about the classes!! I realise that alot of people are far from me but for those who have whatever questions that are hard to communicate thru an e-mail, you can find my phone number on my website www.lucboivin.com in ''contact''. If you have any question, please feel comfortable to drop me a line. It will be my pleasure to try to help you in any way I can.
Thanks
Luc

Hi!,
Using GAC900 with a ratio of 1:1 with water, when sparyed on the fabric the heat set with hot iron, basicaly helps to get the fibers of the cotton flatened out. If you dont do thisd, because off the rather high PSI we are using on fabric, the air will raise the fiber of the fabric which we call fuzzies, allowing them to catch any over spray. It also gives you a smoother surface to work with. I've done several T's now and I realise that the quality of the cotton will also play a big role in the outcome.
The best analogy I can give you is like going outside in a very windy day without hair spray!!! When you come back inside your hair is all fluffed up!! I'm sure if you do a quick search on this forum, you'll be able to find some more information on the subject. Note that you can also use the Transparent base from Createx for this..Its just that I find the GAC900 from Golden to work a bit better....and you are willing to spend between 5 and 10 hours painting on a t-shirt, you want it to be as smooth as possible.
Good luck...and give it a try!
Luc

Thank you snazee. I still have to do the English translation.
I dont do this full time no...unfortunatly. I work in an Architectural firm during the day and paint evenings whenever I have the chance.

Well happy to hear that your getting answers to your questions!!! Places like these are always very helpful.
If you have some drawings skills, in my opinion, its going to make you progress faster. Patience and perseverance...those are key words! You just have to jump in and have fun!!
Take care
Luc

Re: Cosmo Kramer on white T
Luc,
That is very well done! You did a beautiful job. You know I love your
racing art as well too. Now I have two favorite kinds of work you do.
Thanks for sharing the paint tips too.
