Default commisioned painting

This is a painting I just completed for a lady that wanted a painting of their home with a colorful land scape. I did the painting with airbrush and hairbrush both. It is done on a 29" by 42" canvas to go above the customers fire place. I have to figure out what I am going to charge for it, any advice would be helpful. Let me know what ya think.

Thanks
ghooptie

that looks real good. as far as the price hmmm... havent got a clue, my fellow airbrush guys her in denmark hate me for painting at so low rate. I charge 150$ for doing helmets without the clear, so I guess I´m not the right one to ask

Well, how much is your time worth and how much time did you spend on it?
How much did your materials cost. I know auto repair charges double what they pay for parts on average around here.
How much time did you waste on it. (I spend a lot of time fixing my screwups as I go along) I don't think people should be charged for your learning time.

How "friendly" do you feel towards the client.

The only thing I've gotten paid for was the gunstock that I took to a gunshow with a sign on it and walked around until somebody bought it. If I calculated it by the hour and didn't take off for redo's I probably made 50 cents an hour. But I did learn alot! lol

So are you more interested in not leaving money on the table or in getting whatever word of mouth you might gain. The biggest deal is "what are you happy with?"

Hey Ghoop, this looks really good! How long did this take you in hours? Did you have to buy any more material for this including the canvas?
Well you never want to undersell your self.
