Beginner needing help
I purchased a Paasche VL airbrush and a Fussion 1000 compressor a few months ago. Just now getting set up to airbrush, but nothing woks. No ink comes out. Can someone tell me if that compressor is the wrong one for that airbrush? Both are brand new and it is very frustrating.

Re: Beginner needing help
I would say that compressor is a bit small for a VL airbrush
maybe with a very thin color it might work but a VL usually requires quit a bit of air (PSI) to work correctly not sure that compressor is up to it
if you had a gravity feed airbrush it would work better with that compressor I believe
by Ink what do you mean?
What kind of Ink?
Any WHY are you using Ink if you are?

Re: Beginner needing help
Thanks for the reply. Your attachment of the green compressor is the one I have. I tried the ink ( Doctor Martins ink for airbrushing) because I do clay sculpture and have seen some sculpture pieces finished with airbrushed ink. Really nice work. I want to try that type of patina. I don't know if anyone has any advise about that or if there is a better ink to use. I guess I need to try a larger compressor and see if I get any results.

Re: Beginner needing help
Hi Country Kid, and welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about that compressor, but if you don't mind the noise, you can try a pancake compressor, regular air compressor for a contractors job site for nail guns and such. I use one for my paasche vl, well when I used the paasche, I now use a Iwata. but anyway, the compressor will run any airbrush, you will need a pressure regulator so you can adjust your pressure. I hope this is some help to you and good luck with it. Hey, when you get it working, please post some of your work here on the forum....

Re: Beginner needing help
Thanks Bill, I did try a pancake compressor and it works great. It is really loud though. If I can learn airbrushing, I will post something. This is all new to me. Am trying to find someone in my area, that does or teaches airbrushing. No luck so far. I will just keep practicing. Thanks again for your reply.

Re: Beginner needing help
country kid, one of Don's tutorials is how to build a cover for a compressor to keep the noise down. I'm half way through building it, haven't padded it yet, but i tried it over the compressor and it already helps a lot with the noise,.

Hey Country Kid. Welcome to the forum. There's a lot of info here & tutorials that should help shorten your learning curve by quite a bit.
What part of the Midwest do you live in?
