Default Air Hose Help

I got my new Iwata airbrush and airhose but it is 1/8" fitting on both ends, I need 1/4" to hook to air compressor. I went to Lowes to find an adapter but had no luck. Any suggestions, I know I can order one but have this weekend off and hoping to get to do some practicing.

Thanks, Denny

Not sure what model you got ,but I just got mine the other day also. It came with 1/8 on one end and 1/4 on the other. I have a hobby shop in my neiborhood, and I think they carry them. They do make an adapter.Anyone like an auto parts store or the like should have some bins full of fittings. You might have to buy 2or 3 parts to makeit, but they should have it.Hope that helps.

I will check around in the morning. It is 1/8 on both ends for sure, and I did find a male to male 1/8 brass fitting but would only screw on one thread and leaked bad.

I go to home depot when I want a fitting...they always have a large selection...whatever you do don't force the wrong fitting and crossthread your hose fitting...that would blow chunks.

Did you use a sealing tape around the threads before you screwed the fittings together?
One thing with compressed air is it will find a way out of any area if not sealed properly.
If the fitting can turn a couple times without any teflon tape then you will most likely have the right sized connection but as yoda said... it will be bad if the threads didnt meet properly and then you risk the chance of stripping the threads.

Hey dude, I was just at Harbor Freight tools this morning, and they have exactly what you need. Not sure if you got one near you,but I'm sure it's what you need. It's a 1/4" female thread on one end ,and 1/8" male on the other. Check it out.

Just oner more thing. It said that the fitting is used for reducing from AB to conventional 1/4" compressor fittings. Hope that helps

I have a Paache compressor and AB right now but plan on buying an Iwata HP-CH AB real soon. Being a novice, I never gave much thought to AB hoses until reading this post. So I'm assuming that my Paache hose will not work when I get the Iwata.... is that correct? It seems like that will be a real pain. At what connection (compressor, airbrush or both) are the threds / size different? What's the best fix"? Thanks in advance.

I ended up buying a Iwata air hose from Dixie and this one had the right fittings. 1/8 th on the airbrush side and 1/4 on the compressor side.

The Iwata airbrush is an amazing piece of equipment.
