that is a good question, the make-up or body paint that is apply to the movie stars hold up pretty well under the lights for one take

i was recommendedthe product they use for "stage", just didn't want to pay the $8 for the small bottle. Thought maybe someone would know an alternative product. I may have to go back an get it.

thanks Bray. I am going to do several faces for halloween. I also have a request to do a body painting for a girl who will use it in a costume contest for a $500 prize. I am concerned that if she dances or moves around often in a club full of body paint the prespiration will "reactivate" my paint. It is water-based and washes/reactivates with application of water. Thanx again.

I hope to show everyone the final design, i really thinks it's great. I have a colored, sketch that i made for her to approve. I want to double check with Don to see if he has anything against me posting a body paint pic. only the top is exposed and it's completely covered in paint....so Don, if your listening, let me know if i can post the finished piece. Here is the sketch, and again, Don, feel free to delete this post if you deem it unappropriate. But please leave the thread so i can hopefully resolve my dilemma

p.s. the arms are suppose to be a worm(looks bad w/ my color pencil rendering). I am thinking about changeing to scales to represent a snake. also, there will be some hair coming out of the hat.

There are several types that can be used and will last a bit longer.

Temptu and Australian Airbrush amd Badger put out two that are alcohol based and will last fairly well if applied properly. I believe Temptu and Badger being the highest priced. The trick is to apply properly and not real thick.

If she is only going to have to dance for a short while and it is a one time thing any of the above will work. These are not recommended for the face though because of the alcohol. I have used it on the face on adults.

There are a few other brands that I have used with success that are water based. There is a sealer available that works well called green marble. I can give you the link if you wish.

Contact me if you wish and I will do my best to help you out.

If you are using real makeup vs the temp tattoo dye, i would use ordinary baby powder to set the makeup. That's what us poor boys used to use back in the good old days of no money stage theater. just use a powder puff to apply the powder, wait a few seconds, then brush off with a baby brush.
