Re: MY TAT COVER UP REAL TATTOO IN PROGRESS
Wow... thats a bit scary.... but I guess that winging it is the only way to go at this point.
I think it will come out good once you have all the colour in the scales and the lines shouldnt be as confusing anymore. Its an ambitious cover up, but I've seen scarier, when it didnt look like it was going to work and in the end looked great!
You have to go through with it now, lol!!!
It will turn out beautiful... I like the design

Re: MY TAT COVER UP REAL TATTOO IN PROGRESS
OK Nat, I'm going to be honest with you and give you my opinion.
First you have to understand that this is just the beginning of a, what cotto said "an ambitiuos cover up" but very do-able.
The line work always will be the most painful part because they use less needles for the linework process.
The coloring will hurt but not near as much as the line work so hopefully they give you a bit of time to heal before you get the rest done.
You should be pleased with this because to me this is going to look great. I love the japanese theme and style and they are doing an awesome job. You asked this artist to do a coverup and he has his work cut out for him so he is probably cursing you right now because you laid one hell of a challenge out for him and actually doin a hell of a job so far. So dont lose hope and actually cut him a bit a slack.
You cant tell me that you thought this was going to be a walk in the park and he was gonna use ice cream to do the tattoo with! Of course its goin to hurt!
WOMAN UP GIRLFRIEND!!! This is going to look badass and the line work looks really good and if he knows what hes doin with that part then the color will look equally as good.
Mine hurt like hell too and I also let the artist wing it and I love it. Is it addictive? probably not at least not for me but I would do it again as long it was the right artist and I had plenty of money. Definitly would never go cheap on a tattoo, will pay top dollar for a top artist with out a blink, just broke right now!lol!!
It looks great and be lucky you found an artist that will take on a cover up as difficult as this one.
Just mello and follow his directions as far as healing and you will be good to go.

Re: MY TAT COVER UP REAL TATTOO IN PROGRESS
I used to push ink, and this one is lookin really sweet, Xzotic. The biggest one I ever did was a grim reaper on the whole back of this guy, yeah, hurt like hell, but he liked it even before the color. Never did finnish it out with color, he moved, or maybe got thrown in jail LOL Your tat is lookin great Nat, I'd say you picked one heck of a good artist to be able to do a cover up job like that.

Re: MY TAT COVER UP REAL TATTOO IN PROGRESS
Well Nat I don't have to add anything about line work and so on. But if your interested I myself spent five hours under the needle two weeks ago having work done on the top of my arm and I will be heading back for another session on Thursday night. I have had some work covered myself and I know it is not easy for the artist, but stay strong it's a nice design and it will look cool in the end. So if you think on me on Thursday I will be mentally supporting you when you have more work done. By the way when do you go under the needle again?

Re: MY TAT COVER UP REAL TATTOO IN PROGRESS
I like it can't wait to see you get some colour in there... I usually find the colour part relaxes me to the point that I almost go to sleep - give it a few more weeks and head back and get it finished off the colour needles do not go in as deep as the outline so this is why the outline hurt so much..
