I got a ? for anyone that do tattoo or bodyart
according to the local news on the tv tattoo artist in ohio or ky are using a paint or ink that are made for the automotive trade, they mention lead [the metal ] and cancer, okay the question don't the tattoo artist had a standard to go by that is enforce by the state dept.
the company that made the paint or ink stated that they never tested the product for human use on the body

NOOOOOO, I've never heard of that, and yes there is in most counties a requirement to have a licence from the local health dept. Any respectable shop should have one. Also we don't use paints, it's a pigment, lead free of course. Although, there may be "scratchers" (people working out of thier garage or basement without a licence, in most cases) using "inks" that aren't approved by federal standards. I hope this might help.

suspekae is right....they use to use a form of ink, and many tribes actually make there own form of ink !! but tat ink is kinda like alcohol with pigment in it, the alcohol will evaporate leaving the pigment in the skin ....kinda like prison ink"ash ink" ......never herd of using a paint tho could preserve the tat with some clearcoat

mayhem, about the time that you was born, some people were painting their body with very bad results because their skin could not breathe so I do not recommended clear except for a small area ,what if you had to sand the clear off [OUCH]

You had me very confused for a minute. You are not talking about airbrush temporary tats or body painting. The inks and paints we use are FDA approved and wash off the skin with soap or rubbing alcohol.

I not trying to confuse anyone, the reason behind this post is to talk about unsafe bodypaints & tattoos practices
