I don't have the answer for you Don because I'm a 1Shot girl, but I can see that you're about to make a commitment & get on with learning to pinstripe..
You're not going to want too much of a drag on the brush so your paint shouldn't be mixed to set up too fast..You'll understand about drag very shortly..
I'm ready to go myself...I've never really cared to make ornate designs but I know that I can try.. I was never in the place to make any money with it, but instead I've probably outlined a million letters & when it comes down to it, it's the very same thing..what I'm finding out is that my eye sight plays tricks with me now & I have a slight problem when first laying the brush down..when I was a child the other signmen would put me on the eighth inch letters & just rave on at how well I painted them--now I know why they complained about their glasses & set me to task on these jobs..I'm afraid it's come full circle..
I lettered this for a nice gentleman last night..Very rough texture.. I airbrushed the large last name & then came back with a long haired liner for the outline & small letters.. I'm rusty, but it's always fun to do..I see in the picture that I still need to clean up a little overspray & then he's welcome to it..$60 in about 20 minutes (while I'm relaxing, watching TV) & I'm sure he would have paid more..You need to learn this Don..You do outstanding helmet work now, but you could take it to the next level--it's all about learning & there's always something to learn & that's where the practice comes in..get ready to pratice!!
