Default Glass window

This is something I did for a young neighborhood kid..I've been friends of his family for years..He was talking to me about vinyl letters & the little money he had--I'm always a sucker for a pitiful kid..About an hour & a half later this was on his window..drawn with a Stabilo graphite pencil & lettered with OneShot and a lettering quill..I haven't done work like this for quite awhile & I found out that I've lost a lot of agility..It was darn hard to stretch to the middle & I couldn't do it at all on the passenger side..I used to crawl up & down on trucks & rigs a whole lot easier than I do today but age & size has got the best of me!!.. I had planned to put another outline of dark green between the red & gold--but it was too uncomfortable to work on so I called it quits with what I gave him..Another happy kid..

That looks really great! I know a guy who might want the marines emblem on his back window but I wasn't sure how permanent one shot is on glass. Is this something that is permanent and are than any extra additives that you have to add to it? I've never tried to do anything on glass before. I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks

Hello CSmith--One Shot works very well, but anything at all on glass remains a little delicate.. I always apply spar marine varnish on top of the One Shot extending about 1/8th. inch all around..this will hold it tight for a good while..No heavy handed scrubbing or scraping & I wouldn't advise a high pressure cleaning, although this one goes through a car wash with no problems..You can add Japan dryer to your One Shot but I rarely ever do..the Marine emblem would be very pretty so by all means don't shy away just because it's glass..I hope you don't have as much trouble getting to it as I did..I had to hang by my toes & lay on my tummy.. I guess I'm just spoiled working at the easle so much..good luck to you on this..It would be a very handsome job..Be sure to clean your glass very well with a vinegar & water mixture--you can't rely on glass cleaners..

I appreciate the tips! I'm not sure if he will want his tailgate or back window done but at least I will know how to do the window if that's what he decides. I am always interested in using new techniques. Thanks again!

Wow, nice job, make sure you check with the state laws in your state before doing something like this. This would not pass PA State Saftey inspection
I think PA is one of the stricktest states for this stuff

Darla,
The youth of today are the consumers of the future, and they have lots of friends with money.
Looks very nice.
