Brush Box WIP
My new brush box which I got from Hobby Lobby. It was just unfinished pine when I got it. Stained it ebony, put on a few coats of spar varnish, steel wolled it and shot on some Uro catylized clear, did the tribal fade and striped the flames. These are the smallest flames I stripped to date. Tight turns! Have a lot more I want to do to it. It has two trays to hold brushes. The box was on sale for $9.00. and also came with a wooden pallate. What a deal. AL

Re: Brush Box WIP
That look great Al! I didn't know they had boxes to store brushs in like that, very good idea! Did it come with the foam or did you add that?

Re: Brush Box WIP
it is very cool; however, I would have thought that you would have pin stripped the box instead of Airbrushing, due to the contents inside. Still cool.

Re: Brush Box WIP
Thanks for the compliments. No the foam didnt come with it. I picked that up at Handcock's fabrics along with some elastic twine that the OL sewed in there to hold down the brushes. No Pinstripes? Well not yet but you just wait. Id also like to try a little gold leaf maybe. It will be a work in progress until there is no room left. Only thing is Im using 1 Shot so no more clearing over that but I suppose I could brush some CC on over the gold leaf. AL

Al,
Those are super tight turns! I love it. Good work! We got to
get together and jam!

Re: Brush Box WIP
Added a little more, once it dries I see I need to do a little repair work on some of the lines. At least its just my brush box and not somebody's scooter LOL. AL

Re: Brush Box WIP
Very Cool.
The box is coming along very nicely..
I bought two different types of boxes to do also but they sit in the studio.. sigh..
I got as far as trimming two brushes and pulling about 400 lines and curves, played with the scrolling a bit and well that was it.. I can't wait till I have time to sit and practice.
Still dig the heck outta the striping!

Re: Brush Box WIP
Al, this is looking VERY nice ! Pin stripping is becoming a lost art, it is wonderful to see someone learning the craft, I used to watch pin stripers for hours on end at the hot rod shows we would attend. Very few are good at this craft, and from what I see you are becoming one of the few, very nice work, can't wait to see more progress shots.
