WIP Phewwwww...saved it!
Billy & I put our heads together on this one, we were able to save this trunk lid, but it has taken some real time & effort.
The customer of this 71 LTD is not concern'd as much with the inside of the car as he is the outside...[not a show car] just a sentimental paint job, but Billy & I couldnt bring ourselves to just paint over that......
Still have the dress layer to put on & sand out the rough .....

MAN...I havent seen rust like that since I lived in Ohio!!
Nice save and I agree with Brush, where do you find the time?! I probably would have trashed it.

What did you use to repair the rust? Can't really tell in the pics.It looks good ,I would have sandblasted it first though to completely remove all the rust. Just a little friendly advise not knocking the work looks good for what it was.

Actually as bad as the rust was, we cut it out & tack'd a pLate for a bridge there....then ground the remaining surrounding rust out.... from there it becomes a normal body repair

aaaggg, Yardnut, looks like the thing I have been working on!!! Lotsa work there. It's lookin sweet, looking forward to seeing what yer gonna do on it :-)
