Default weld machine

Hi
went little wild and crazy and bought me a weld machine (MIG/MAG )yesterday no pro thing just to able to weld on my car if necessery(thinn metall)
i tried it with flux cored wire have no gas yet,,,
anyhow played some with spiderwebb to decorate the radiator on my bike,
i haven't been welding for years so it was little tricky,
primed and painted the webb and spider in silver,,made the spider of a sheet of metall that i sculped by give it a go with a hammer then i welded the legs
to the body
here's a few pics on the bike without and with my decoration,,

Kimmo,
That is nice. You will find you will be doing all
kinds of work with your new welder. And it
saves much time. I use to do brazing in high school.
Your new welding system is much better. You can
do faster cleaner work, and not warp the metal. Sounds
great. Nice work on your bike too.

Gas (shielded wire) is so much cleaner than flux core.
Harbor freight sells argon bottles pretty reasonable and most industrial supplies will swap your bottle for a full one for about $30 or so.
One thing to be aware of if you decide to use gas with your mig welder, any draft will cause the gas to blow away from the weld and cause bubbling in the weld.

I prefer an Argon/CO2 mix with my MIG welder. 75/25 mix.

If you really want to get into some clean welding work on small stuff, go with a TIG welder. Takes a little practice, but if you can do acetlyene, you can do TIG.

Very nice work.
