So I got this phone call a couple days ago, The small town of Canton is in the process of building a Veterans Memorial. Seems the curator of this project saw the tailgate on my truck, and jotted down the number. she called me and asked if I would be interested in volunteering some of my time and talent to the project. It's kinda funny, cause I was thinking of how I could give back something in honor of our troups , what they do, and did for us. It's one of those things a person feels so deeply about it can't be explained. Anyway, I told the lady I would be honored to do something, and she said she would add my name and number and make note that I was an airbrush artist. So I asked her what it was they would like me to do, a wall mural, or something simular. She said the memorial would have no walls, just a big pavillion for ceremonies and things, but they are getting a jet and helecopter, full scale, that will need painting in the original style.........
So I get off the phone with her, and now I'm thinking, I'm afaraid of hieghts, now what? But ya know, my trivial fear of hieghts does not compare to how I feel for our troups, present and past. I hold them all in my heart, and have a great respect,gratitude, and almost a motherly kinda love for em all. So I am, and will be honored, to pay tribute to them in this small way.
For any one of you that has served, are serving, or have anyone who is or has served, for all the wounded, the fallen, all the ones who have the courage of a warrior in thier hearts, I thank you. God Bless you all.

I will defineatly take a camera Redneck. Thank you Diaz, they won't be ready for me untill May, but thats a good thing, gives me time to get ready. Bigger than anything I have ever done Kwit, in more ways than one. I'm looking forward to it :-)

Awesome news KD! If you get a scaffolding it feels a lot safer than a ladder. They will probly provide you with one so it'll be o.k.

Here in our small town to get to town from our house you drive thru an old divided town cemetary where the flag of our few [ but too many] fallen are resting now...not one day goes by that I dont think & thank them for what they have done for us..From your words I know that you will accomplish putting in the art what we would like to say if we could...God Bless ya & great big congrats!

KD, that there is one project I would love to be involved with.

How do you give back to those that have given so, so much.

I don't separate those fallen, injured or serving by nation, religion or creed, be they American, Australian, British, Kiwi or Canadian or wherever, we who stay behind to keep the lights in the window are forever in your debt and forever humbled by your sacrifice.

KD, there are probably so many people that they could have called but the spirits decided to point them in your direction, That's what they call fate sister, you are being called by higher powers than we will ever know girl and I am sure that you will do an outstanding job with all of the heart and emotion that only you could summon.

I wish I could be there to help, instead I will be here on the other side of the pond thinking of you and adding my spirit to yours.
