First get your mind in the right place ROWIE!!!!!
Ya's know I had to get a new puter, altho I have Irish in me I sure dont have the Luck they are so proud of....when ya look up murphys law in wink

opedia my face smiles at ya...get the idea?
I got home with the desktop of all things the base would not move...none ,nodda bit...Bill and I spent a bunch of time trying tho....no manuals, just a few warrenty pamplets..[hummm wonder why so many warrenty explainations?] why would they not pack a how to use, but so much on what to do if ya cant? But among all that it states swival base vert to monitor....first step to all of it...
>>>oh no first steps not working I can see it coming already....frustrated from being off line and having ABT DT's....we proped the monitor up safely and went to town getting things running again so I could get on line and find a manual on the monitor [my thought was it had a lock somewhere]
Nope no locks.....hmmmmm I get the online support...took forever to make that person realize the monitor itself is fine ..it was the base that holds the blasted thing thats bad.... finally 3 options were given to me..
1] pack it all back up and drive 50 miles round trip for another puter [since bought in a bundle...cant just flip the monitor back....
2] they can send a referbed base right away.
3]my case can escalate to supervisor and I will get a call in a day or two.
I chose 3 thinking I could convince the supervisor to just send me a new base.....geeeeez there were only 3 screws holding the base on, and the online instructions show how to take it off and replace with a wall mount....three screws NOT VERY TECHNICAL!
2 days later I get the supv. call ....Nope!!! no -go....he wanted me to make the round trip.......well I knew Id never get anywhere, he advised me it was impossible to just send an arm...... ...heckfire...Bill or I can build a monitor stand for way less trouble...but I removed the base, and in common sense figuring, it had 2 bolts with locking nuts on the arm.....duh someone had the lock nuts too tight and it couldnt move on the arm axle. Got the locknuts loosened...Eureka it worked...mounted the monitor and its great!
Phissssshhhhh GO FIGURE!!! It took 4 people 3 days to correct 2 simple lock nuts......man have we got so technical now that noone can handle the SIMPLE?
It just made no sense to me to replace the entire monitor for just the base that was held on with 3 screws...if worse came to worse it would have been cheaper for me to buy a wall mounting arm.
Ya think this is a great example of why things cost so much for the consumer.
