Darla!

Your letters look as if they were right out of a typewriter!!!. I'm very impressed with the consistency in which you are able to put your lettering. As you mention in your article, their is only one way to way to ant kind of consistency doing lettering is thru PRACTICE. The exercises that you recommend are exactly the same as when I started in Architecture back in 1978. The first exercises that we ever did in college was doing hand lettering.....pages and pages of them. We were even graded on them!!! That was back then...now we have computers, so lettering is no longer an issue in our business...unfortunately...
I can remember not too long ago looking over some hand made drawings within our office and seriously wondering if the person that drew the plans or portions of them, if he or she had their fingers smashed in a car door!!! It was so bad...uggly.... that I could not get past that point, so therefore, I was not able to see the content of the drawings. I remember being so depressed about it. It got to the point where I did not want anyone doing text on the plans that I had worked on....it was driving me sick. Then came the computer age and the issue of having people do hand lettering on plans in a nice and consistent way has disappeared.

I love the way you explain the exercises. Very well explained...simple but to the point. No ifs or buts. You want to improve or learn, well load up the airbrush and go for it.

I would love to see a video of you painting a t-shirt for a client. I know you work fast and what you put out is very impressive but I would till like to see how you go about it.

Thank you for the nice article! I’ve purchased all the back issues so I’ll have a chance to read more of your earlier articles.

Keep up the good work.

Same here but thats OK.

There is a great article in the issue from Gilles Caron explaining how to make your own stencils. Its rather quite simple and the possibilities are endless. I make my own but what I now know after reading the article is the type of material that is recommended.

Thank you Gilles.

I finally got a chance to read through my mag and hats off to everyone involved. Every article was well written and explained things and steps so anyone could understand. Don you did it again another great looking mag for us all to enjoy.

I must say I've been having problems writing my column. I haven't been getting a lot of questions for the mag for me to answer. Everyone asks them on the boards and gets them answered there. I've been thinking of topics that all tee squirters would benifit from, so the smoke is pouring out my ears, LOL. It's not easy and I just wish I'd get more questions or ideas on what people wanna see. Anyway like I always say, I can't do my article without all your questions or suggestions. If You have anything you want me to cover E-mail them to me at askjammer@evenlink.com and I'll use them in the mag.

Again, the mag looks great and I think it's the best mag out there. It's not a mag selling products or a showcase for the same pro's artwork, it's a mag we all contribute to because we love to airbrush!

Luc, thank you so much for the beautiful compliments. I've been waiting in anticipation for you to recieve your magazine because I knew how pleased you would be with your article..both you & Marge do such beautiful work!! I think all of us that share in writing articles have such a diverse style--Marge & Kimmo & yourself show sophisticated, tedious, almost masterpieces & then I get sandwiched in between, trying to teach anyone who cares to know how to print..I've read that young school children have such bad handwriting that it's inelligable to the teachers..Handlettering I'm told is becoming a lost art--I don't know about that but I know I don't see it in signage anymore..I sure appreciate the fact that you recognize a pretty letter..All in all I think that each & every one of us did a jam-up job to make issue #14 a winner..Jammer & Kicks are great & they're trying to do a real good job but not enough questions are being asked???--You need to check out the sharp double heart design Jammer gave us though in a previous issue..Not everyone understands that good shirt designs don't come along everyday..& I'm forgetting the man's name at the moment but wait until you see the beautiful leather jacket--you'll know it when you see it..I really like his style..too much to mention--aren't you glad you took the time to submit an article--I think you'll recieve a lot of thank you's for your instructions--& 1 other nice perk I gave myself after reading your article was a pretty pair of black panties --all the girls on the forum need to consider doing the same!!

Hi Jammer. Thank you for your article in issue 14. I now know were to ask my T questions!!! I visited your site and I love what you have done...very well painted Tees.

As a suggestion for a future article and not knowing if it has been previously addresses, its about colour painting on a black T, like your '71 Monte SS454. Just nicely executed.

On another note, Darla has got to love your lettering!!!

Thanks again.

Hey Don,

I finally got my mag today(Friday) Boy was I excited. I was supposed to be sleeping (working nights) but my missus came back from the mailbox and brought me my mag, 'cause she knew how anxious I was. Anyway, I had time to quickly flip through it, and read Luc's article. Well done again. However, and I am glad to see I wasn't the only one,(I was going to rip someone a new one at Canada Post) I didn't recieve my stencil(although, the how to use it body art article was good) either. Anyway, not a biggie, as mentioned above, the important thing is I finally got my mag and it is looking great.
I can hardly wait to get home a get into it.

thanx again
Eric

Well, I finally got my copy on Friday as well. Didn't get the stencil, but that's what I get for having a name in the latter half of the alphabet, I guess..Not a problem, because I've got plenty of reading and practicing ahead of me anyway! Great job on all of the articles, and the magazine looks GREAT! It's so nice to look through a mag and not have to fight your way through ads for a ton of stuff that you can't afford yet! Keep it up Don, and I'm renewing for two years!!!
