Football Season is HERE!!!

I love football. NFL, college, High school, and right now.....Midget (Pop-Warner Leauge).

My 12 yr old son is in 6th grade this year......his final year for Midget football. I'm your typical proud father, and have been known to stand up during a game and yell "That's MY BOY!!!" Forgetting the problems of past seasons (all new coaching staff and philosophy this year) I've been counting down the days till practice started, and waited patiently through the first week of conditioning. Today was the first day of full pads. YES!

Now, you have to understand something. My son, Hayden, AKA Lil' Daddy, is not your typical 12 yr old. Some of you have seen pictures of him before when he was helping the old man paint the green fire dodge. Well, Hayden is about 5'6", and going around 145 lbs......atheletic build (hit puberty last year). Needless to say, he's one of the biggest kids on the team, and I would say the strongest, and if not the fastest, easily in the top 3.........and he LOVES to HIT!

LOL, I have to chuckle to myself about that.....it's kinda my fault. Other parents would cheer "knock him down!" or "hit em hard" to their kids.

I yelled "Hit em like they owe your sister child support!" (I'm classic white trash ;-) Well, needless to say, he does hit em like that.

First practice play tonight, first full contact. There are 2 offensive linemen and 1 running back vrs 2 defensive lineman and a linebacker. Hayden is playing the right Dlineman. He's lined up against the largest kid on the team, giving up about 35 pounds. The ball is snapped, Hayden sheds his block with a beautiful swim move, and CRUSHES the running back SQUARE at full speed. The RB litterally was lifted off his feet, flew through the air backwards, and was dumped square on his back for a 5 yd loss. The new coaching staff went NUTS! I just grinned ear to ear. Can't wait till tomorrow's practice.

heh heh heh Big Daddy i know that feeling...isn't it great, i know it is for me...I have a double athlete right now she's looking at full scholarship for basketbal.... they call her the 3point queen..... i'm so proud ( as a little tear rolls down my cheek)...lol.. but seriously it's an undescribable emotion....

Kickoff coverage last season. He's the "wedge-breaker". He's the 1st player on the kicker's right side. His job is to run straight down the field as fast as he can, and knock over as many guys as possible.

I told you the camera man sucked, but hopefully, you can see the lick he puts on one of the players from the other team. The next kickoff, they tried double-teaming him (didn't work either.....one of them ended on his rear-end). After that, they just got stepped of his way....LOL.

I like to go watch any type of football. I'm always walking or riding the bike down to the parks to go watch the lil' pop warner's or the area highschool to go watch the thursday or friday night games.
Anytime you wanna share pics or vids do so, I'd love to see them.
