Default Ready for Daytona???

I am excited, Daytona falls on my B-day this year. My ever so loving wife said I could have an all out guys day here at the new house. Gonna fire up the smoker have some brisket and a pork roast, and maybe a beer or 12.

Get used to it. My son rolled over in his novice year and broke his collar bone. He was taken out by another driver who didn't want to get passed. That is the hardest thing about this sport, being able to actually watch without getting to nervous! Also not snapping on the other kids parents when bone headed moves like that happen LOL

Alot of beatin and bangin goin on during the shootout....should make for an interesting 500 if they keep that up with 43 cars....lol. I was glad to see Jr pull off a second place finish....sure was a close race with Tony there at the finish for that spot, although Tony didn't seem to happy during his interview afterwards for a guy that wanted to finish second behind his teammate, but ended up finishing third....still not a bad day in my opinion, not to mention he did keep his teammate in the lead most of the day.

I don't care for either of the two Busch(babies)brothers, so it really ticked me off the way Kyle was drivin so rough and doin so much intentional blocking....He caused at least one wreck and possibly more dependin on which replay you saw....and should've caused even more by the way he was runnin into everyone around him. I know Nascar finally told him to settle down but he didn't from what I could tell.....I hope they had a long talk with him in the oval office afterwards....he or his brother drive like that next weekend and were gonna see some cars get tore up and possibly someone get hurt.

Oh well, at least I got to see some racin...hehehe....can't wait for next weekend.

The Bush brothers only reason they are there has to be their parents bought them the rides.
The beating and banging comes from the way some if not all these young guys are starting out, Karting where beating on other peoples karts is the norm. With racing of any kind getting so expensive hopefully driving skills, racing clean will gain the upper hand.
Tony complaining has merit hopefully NASCAR will do something not only does it make it more expensive for the teams (replacing cars) and unsafe for the drivers it sends the wrong message to all the kids out there watching about what it takes to get to that level.
Can't race unless you finish as they say it karting.

"The Bush brothers only reason they are there has to be their parents bought them the rides".

Nothing would surprise me.....I was tickled to hear that Kurt got hit with communtity service time for his little episode in Vegas last year.....that gave me a smile

I gotta admit I've always felt Nascar was too weak handed when it came to the issue of "blocking".....Try that in SCCA or FIA and the next thing ya know track marshals are pullin you into the pits for a penalty time out...do it too often and they'll might send ya to the house for a few races. I know its probably a touchy subject with Nascar fans....Heck I was Big E's biggest fan and he was one of the worst(or best depending on how you look at it)blockers that ever drove a car. And personally I think he's one of the main reasons Nascar is so leanient in that area....fans just came to expect that outta Earnhardt and it became part of his allure.....and now alot of other drivers use blocking as part of there normal driving habits.....Not a good habit to get into in my opinion....somethings wrong when you doin all your drivin by lookin in the mirror and runnin blocker.

But to me...personally as an ex driver.....I can't stand a blocker.....I've always felt if your faster than me then drive on by.....i'm not gonna swerve in front of you to keep you behind me. UNLESS....Were talkin last lap and then all bets are off and a little blocking is expected, but in my opinion shouldn't be tolerated any other time during a race.

I like that scene from the old "Canonball run" movie where the dude rips the rearview mirror from the windshield of his Ferrari as he proclaims the first rule of Italian driving is "Whats behind me is not important".......

there's going to be alot of torn up cars by the end of the day
they need to take some of the bars out of the front end of those cars so slam drafting is a thing of the past

be interesting next year with toyato coming on board, look what they have done in the truck series

Cody got third today, he ran a good race but got beat by bigger pocket books (newer motors, freasher motors), thats racing even at the kart level it seems

MY Boy WON!....WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
GO Jimmy!!!!!.... It's been a long time coming. He's in the chase for the championship every year .

WHat's up with Tony Stewart! You have to have friends to to win that race!
All he seemed to do after the Jeff Gordon incident was make enemies. The Jeff thing was fair play though. I have a real love hate relationship with that guy. He is great to watch and is so skilled but seems to act like a tempermental child at times. He came right from the back 3 times!

Man you gotta love Nascar!

Don congrats to Cody!
We have the same problem up here in 4 cycle. The kid who won the championship put $5000.00 into a 5.5hp Honda 4 cycle engine! Not to mention a brand new go kart to start the the year. Look at it this way . They gotta have someone to race with or it's not a win it's just doing laps!

Tony forgot to take his pro-zack this morning it looks like
that guy is his own worst enemy, what a bone head that guy can be
one minute he is crying about all the rough driving and it turns out he's the one doing 90% of it, have to feel sorry for Matt he got a raw deal on that
it's going to be a long year for Tony his got a big target on his back now

Jr did alright for having no help out there

I really thought Jr. had a chance today. He got the bonus points for most laps
lead. It was disappointing to see him drop back near the end. I guess a top 10 will have to do for now. Very cool about Jimmy though. Looks like the start of a good year.

I think it will always be a hollow victory for JJ after all the cheating they have been caught doing. Too bad because he is a talanted racer.
