Default Paint

Hello all,

I am new to airbrushing and I have a double action airbrush. I want to know a couple of things before I start:

Can you use any type of paint in a airbrush?
How much do you have to thin the paint to use it?
What is the best cleaning method?

Thanks for any and all help.

Well, here's what I know, as a fellow newbie with little experience... You can spray anything that will flow through an airbrush. Thin it to the consistancey of 2% milk and spray away, but make dead sure you clean your brush afterward! And as for cleaning, use the thinner prescribed for your paint and when you think it's clean... Clean it again!!!

Cool. So, I could go up to my local hardware store and pick up some paint? The reason I ask is because there are no paint supplier near me.

any airbrush paint to start out with no not house paint
check out these sites www.howtoairbrush.com , www.airbrushhowto.com

the pigments in airbrush paint are ground finer than craft paint making them much easier use espically to learn with

there are tons of places on line where you can purchase DR Martins, Comart, Golden airbrush colors, Createx paints a simple google search will get you a pretty good list

in most case's paint should be reduced so it flows like milk

have fun

Hey, thanks for the sites. But, I was wondering, is there any paint that should be used on plastics? Or rather, not be used? Thanks again.
