Cool 2005 season

just saw this forum,, love nascar!
ok, so who do you think will take it this year? Will Tony be strong as always or will Johnson get edgy?

And anyone have thoughts on the fiasco with Kurt busch and his mouth? I like alot of drivers and teams, but this is one young man who has gone overboard, his actions are an embarassment to the Rousch org. At first i thought maybe the locals were just roughing him, but not after his interview on sunday. Another case of a youing boy growing too fast.
And as always, drink, STAY AT HOME!

About mikey, he's got a good team to run for next year and it's nice to see Napa went with him (especially since my hubby works at napa )

next~~~~

I'd like to see Stewart hit the wall.

As for Busch, man this guy ruined it for his brother in Pheonix. For hellsake, they wouldn't even let him do his brodies, they called immidiatly to the winners circle.
Just because his bro was an idiot and got a reckless, don't make the rest of the family suffer. The winners brodie is a huge part of racing..

Tony's had a great year no doubt, and would deservingly win the title. He has matured a lot over the past couple of years......Kurt Bush reminds me a little of the way Tony used to handle himself( both are hotheads). I personally would like to see Jimmie Johnson take it and Stewart to be caught in a pile up and finish about a 100 laps down!

OK, time for a reality check...Tony has finished 9th or better in 19 of the last 21 race's.He is going to be this years champion and Jimmy will end up going home in second place (1st runner up for you politically correct types) to lick his wound's and talk about next year. You can't hate a guy who goes out every week with one goal-win the race!! He has proven that he is far superior to any other team this season, that's why he is on the verge of another championship. As far as Kurt Busch, he mouthed off to a cop...doesn't much matter who you are, not the smartest thing to do.Hopefully he will learn from this incident and learn to control his temper.

There is a lot of truth to what you say, but think, if stewart gets close to a not so skilled driver like say robbie gordon, who causes countless wrecks, or some rookie that cuts a tire and wham! Takes him and his championship hopes right back behind the wall! Cool!

Rhyne,I tried to stick with proven facts when discussing the end of a great NASCAR season.Apparently you have an issue with Tony Stewart becoming the 2005 season champ.I am not sure why you or other's would like to see a person who has put so much effort to reach a goal end up in an accident or hitting the wall?I enjoy watching every weekend to see who can overcome and rise to the top.I have respect for the drivers and teams that come out each week to give their everything to live the dream of winning a NASCAR championship.I did not come into this season with any Tony Stewart merchandise...actually I have been a Sterling Marlin fan for years.I have been ridiculed at work about supporting the "legend killer" but have stood behind Sterling as a great driver and a great person.I have never broken my leg's jumping on and off the band wagon of any driver,I simply enjoy racing.

please don't get me wrong. I'm not a die hard fan of anyone. and tony stewart does deserve the title this year. he has been so very consistent and what i like most about him is the fact of him not flying off the handle cause something didn't go his way, as he used to. I would like to see jimmie johnson win simply because he has been runner up the last 2 years. when rusty and mark were up at the to earlier in the year, i would have liked to seen one of them win. I usually go for the underdog and right now i consider JJ the underdog. the only way for him to pull it off is for something to happen to tony. anything could happen.

I'm a Tony fan from the time he entered the cup, (I didn't pay much attention to busch series before then) But i do like alot of the other drivers too. Sterlin has always been a good driver as others. I would have liked to see Mark Martin win the champ this year.Talk about a runner up, This year, they really seemed to be getting together, but as always, wrong place at the wrong time. Or Maybe Rusty. As for Robbie Gordon,eh, he won't even be driving sunday!
If Tony can't make it, I'd like to see he and Johnson out and see Carl Edwards take it !
Now that's a young man who knows when to pour the power on when needed!
Next year I think is gonna be just as exciting as this year, Jr has his real crew chief back, no matter their differences, the car ran better , a change for petty int, with Labonte in the seat and all the other changes happening too!
Well truck series just finished up, and since there may be someone who has not seen the race ,, a good man won The championship!

I think the most interesting change for next year is putting jamie mcmurray in the 97 for rousch. I believ he will do well.

Sorry all, I'll get off my soap box and start having some fun here!!With all of the changes that have been annouced so far and what may occur over the winter,2006 is shaping up to be a great year.Ford and Chevy both coming out with new cars and the Dodge boys going back to NASCAR for a new nose...could make things really exciting and a bit unpredictable.Sorry if I got a little heated earlier...the wife keeps telling me I've gotta learn to relax when discussing NASCAR!!Let's have an exciting and safe race on Sunday.

They are testing the Ford Fusion...looks ok, but I thought they would go with the Ford 500. The 500 seems to be closer in styling to the current Taurus.Hope they dont have the same problems as Dodge,no amount of wind tunnel testing can replicate real world racing.

Sporty looking car, haven't seen one in person but from pictures/TV ,I have heard comments of "looks like a VW" and "has a Cadillac looking front end". I guess if you look hard enough you can see both...would like to see up close and personal before I give an opinion. You can check it out at Fords website.

no probs here with the 'soap box' I'm glad I found a place to talk about it while looking at some cool art!
some of the dodge guys brought the new car to test, since they're not in for the chase. Why not throw the magnum in the mix? Though I'm outside a true blue ford fan, in the races, I go for all, it's the ability of the drivers I look at.
I 'm looking forward to the new changes for next year too.
well, since I know everyone is loading up the couch and recliners , (I'm recording, hubby decided to leave the garage and go to the woods) Don't beat up your tv's now when Smoke runs away with the title!! heehee,, (I HOPE!!!)
hope to chat with ya'll afterwards!

I watch all drivers too but I also tend to watch them outside their cars, their personalities and attitudes. If you watch and listen , they reveal their true colors....Not taking anyting from stewart, great deiver and all, maybe the best this year, but i'm still rootin' for jimmie to pull it out.

well sorry you didn't get your wish. They all ran good last night. I bet next time Johnson gets that feeling he's gonna hit the pits. The finish was great, though I was hoping since mark got there , he would get the win.. But I bet the was the hardest race Tony has ever run. I missed the 'run as hard' as he could but i would probably do the same, protect myself and be where I needed to be, especially with all that $ on the line
and like you said above, their outside actions speak loudly.
ok, onto next year!
