Yeah.....what a race today, huh? I see that Sadler likes to finish on his roof. Second year running. LOL. Junior was awesome.

I managed to get to see the last 30 laps or so. Jr. did a good job on that last run, and if U noticed, he credited those 2 right-side tires for a BIG help there at the end. Jeffy had a liitle problem there at the end - waahhh.

Mark is now 4th. L8r - DrD

Default Fine

I guess they are going to take 23 points from Jr for his comments on TV Sunday after the race. Heck of a way to lose the champion chip if it is decided by 20 points or less

25 points for a slip of the tongue? That's ridiculous. I figured they would fine him, but changing the points over that is going too far.

Thats too bad they gotta go and take the points from Jr for that little comment...which btw, I thought was pretty funny!!
If it had been Tony Stupid...they probably would have fined him $5 and said "no no Tony"...and next time were gonna wash your mouth out with soap!!!

I think it should have been a monetary penalty only....I mean its not like he planned that out or anything like the infamous Janet Jackson "boob" thing...which had a "pastie" installed over the nipple as I remember...definitely planned to do it and was no "malfunction"!!!!!!

Just the exuberence of winning the FIFTH Talladega race and quite understandable if you ask me!!! I mean winning even one race there would be enough for me to cuss out the Pope!!!!! LOL!!!!

And....the race wasnt too bad for my man Martin...gained another spot!!!!!

Default 25 points

was the fine, the press, TV might have a hard time getting interviews from no on which now puts him 12 points behind curt ears bush

NASCAR will run the sport right into the ground they are on a mission to self destruct, unbelieveable

25 points AND $10,000 was the fine for that one little slip up.

I think there SHOULD be a penalty to discurage that from happening all the time, BUT...I think the monetary fine would be enough.
I think that NASCAR should enforce a penalty though...nothing personal and I would say the same if it had been Martin in the same situation.
If they let it get to be common place, they will have to do the 5 second delay broadcasts...which I am sure will have monetary repercussions to the sport, so, yeah...there needs to be a penalty, just not points and cash....one or the other unless it was a "flagrent" infraction instead of a slip of the tounge exuberance expression!! Kinda like a Face Mask penalty in football.

Default Big Brother

Yep, They are watching EVERYTHING these days.

I don't think it is right( or fair ), and as Jr. said it wasn't "in anger", but they started down that road, and are now "committed". They have several instance(s) of fine(s), so if they don't do it "equally", they'll get the " different rule(s) for Earnhardt, than for all the rest " comment(s) thrown at them.

KB is right, the JJ deal, HAD to be planned, or else Why the pastie ???

NASCAR doesn't think that a monetary penalty is enough ( the driver(s) have LOTS of money ), so they figure the points penalty "gets their attention".

NASCAR is always messing with anything they can get their hands on, in an effort to "broaden their appeal/tighten the race(s)/level the field/keep cost(s) down" - RRIIIGGGHHHHTTTT I think they just ENJOY "mucking" with it, and have the BIG HEAD - can U say CONTROL FREAK(s) ?? DrD

You know, to be blunt about it, to ensure the MASSIVE influx of $$$$$ required to keep that machine(NNC Cup Racing) going, NASCAR " HAS TO CATER TO THE SPONSOR(s) ", cause VERY FEW individual(s) could afford this WITHOUT the sponsor(s), for VERY long.

Why don't the tv networks just run the race with a 5-10 second delay like they do with all other live shows and take care of the problem before it happens
