New Contests coming

We are going to try something different this time, we are going to try to run* (2) contest at the same time, hopefully we will be offering something for everyone, these contests will be open to all forum members 1. A Dots, Lines, and Dagger stroke ( basics ) contest for the more inexperienced artists to compete in2. A Tank, Tins contest for the more experienced artistsMore to come, just posting to get your creative juices flowing, within the next week the rules, and times for the contests will be posted, so stay tuned

Please define a 'tank tin'...is that the half shell available to artist? Can a full tank be used.... just 1/2?
Reason for question I would consider this one, but do not want to purchase a half tin just for the event, but I have access to full tanks not in use....

Sounds great! I think that will definiteley work because the newbies and beginers will be motivated to do the beginners and or basic contest until they feel ready for the tank or tins contest. The pros sometimes can't find the time to enter because they sometimes get to involved doing tank and tins in the first place so now they would have no excuses for anything. Here is some alternatives for the more advanced for future contest,murals, tailgates, helmets. For the beginers, newbies, there is a whole list of tutorials here that would make for a great contest and then they would have the help as well,and on top of it they would be on the way to pro. The only thing is,should the biginer be able to enter the pro contest at the time as the time they are in the beginers contest? I know it wouldn't be fair for the pro to be in the beginner contest. But it might help the beginers to become pro if they enter at will to give a taste of what it would take to win or to see how well they stand up. All just food for thought. Once again sounds clever.

Just curious, will it be possible to enter the tank I just finished clearing this weekend. Since I don't think I'll be getting a chance for another tank during the contest timeframe............................Kwit

OIC Brushy I thought that TINS was short for the half tank display ones you can buy...duh I havent done any bikes yet so I was unaware what the parts where referred to.....thanks Im straight now...............

Kwitcherbitchin, to answer your question about submitting your last Tank project, to me it is NEW WORK and as long as you can post progress pics it is OK by me, BUT to be fair to all contestants I think it should be up to the forum if it is OK, so if there is no objections from anyone I think you can use it.

Time to start bribing the bike wreckers me thinks! That's about the only way I'll find any bike parts to paint.

I did just that today...I stopped by a small place in Quitman..and the guy was nice enough to give me an old honda tank.........

I know I cant hang with some of the BIG DOGS here, but Im sure gonna put a PUPPY in the race
