Re: Just another newbie
NurZ,
Thats great for your first try. Did you stencil or is it free hand? If free hand your line work is good. A little refinement on the shading and your'e gonna get real good real fast.
BTW What brush are you using?

Hello and welcome. Not bad at all. It took me awhile to do what you have done the first time. You are gonna be very good at this, already on your way. Welcome from Illinois U.S.A.

Re: Just another newbie
If you can't get the paints everybody talks about on this board, try whatever paint they have for models or miniatures and just make sure you thin it alot. It will be trial and error to get a combination of thickness (viscosity) and air pressure that works. You will probably be better off with the largest nozzle you can use until you get more familiar with the paints properties because most paints are not ground (size of individual pigment particles) as small air those made for airbrushing. You also might see what paint is being used locally for automobile painting.

Re: Just another newbie
Nice job, search around the forums, there are lots of older threads on pressure and mixtures ect. Just don't forget to filter your piant if it's not airbrush paint. It will help with clogging.

Re: Just another newbie
Hi Nurz, I'm also from S.A - PTA, just happened to stumble across yor tread about House of Kolor, dig this, just today while getting horribly lost in Johannesburg I saw an ad from Creative Rides and guess what, they import HOK paints, they sent me a brochure with prices and the lot, come month end I'm going to visit them and buy me some. I have also been battling along with normal automotve paint, spent a lot of money and nearly lost interest because of all the prep work and dangerous gasses., as I said I was browsing for threads on HOK paint to see how it is when the search picked up your post. Don't know where youre from but mail me and I'll give you their contact details. juanb@sandown.co.za

Firstly Nurz welcome to the best A/B site going. If this is your first work man I gotta say you got it going on if it was mine I would be proud. Good luck with the paint.
