Default Re: Water based scrolling

Thank you all for the nice comments! I will tell all of you about this and also some great books to get. Remember to that sometimes you can check some of these out of the library too. Sometimes they have these under airbrushing or fine art. I have found many airbrushing books under other art listings as well. I will go though this and please let me know if I missed any question.

As far a going to a point or a dagger it is all in the hand pressure of the brush.
Such as, I really load alot of paint in the brush. I do a very light sketch to just show something for a guide. When I start a scroll it is always thick. Think of a capital letter C. Lay it down and into the curve lighten up the pressure. Keeping the same light touch make the two thin lines. Do not stop
or you will get a spot of paint and a tell tale thick line where it shouldn't be.
You can end it thin or if paint is still wet enough finish of a thick ending in a C or just a dagger. Just like in Airbrushing, Thick to thin, only this is hand pressure.
Satch, also when I am all finished with design, let it set up, then with different color make a paint spot at start of every thick begining. Or since this is all water base get out your airbrush and make a nice highlight. It can have a cool effect and good exercise in daggers too.

As far as books are concerned, I have bought a few newer ones at Borders, or
ordered from Amazon. Some used book stores have these and you really have to look. Mack brush sells some and so does airbrush action too, coast airbrush, and Dixie art.

Brands and Titles, DVDs too

DVDs that I just got and I keep watching. I rented these first from
Smart Flix. You get DVDs off the web and rent for a week. Then if good
I will spend the money and purchase them.
I have both Scroll pinstriping by Wizard and Dagger pinstriping. They are worth the money, and well produced. He does such a nice job. I knew alittle about scrolling and his video really helped. I feel these are the best videos on striping and scrolling ever. Coast Airbrush and Dixie Art Sell these also.
