Default Re: how much would you charge?

Just checked out the US TM registry, and if it is the Soundstream logo that has a circle around a spider with the words soundstream. Then it is protected for goods including:

Audio speakers; amplifiers; audio equipment for boats and vehicles, namely, stereos, speakers, amplifiers, equalizers, crossovers and speaker housings; speaker enclosures;

Plus loads more.

So, in essence, if you use there trademark in the course of trade on any items which are the same as, or similar to those for which it is trademarked, then you are infringing that trademark. This is also the case if you change the design slightly, even if it is not identical, but similar to, then this is also infringement.

Adding your sig will not make a difference - in fact, if you do choose to do the job, I would not sign it. I would check US law about adding a disclaimer, they may have some different case law, but I would have thought that if they allow this, then the likelihood is that the disclaimer would have to be larger than the logo.

It is up to you whether you choose to do the job or not, but I just thought I would draw your attention to this fact, as it may be influence whether you decide to take it on. It would not be nice to do the job and be sued for infringement without having had a heads up. They might never know, but then again they might, is it worth taking the risk?
