Darla that is super looking!!!!!! I love it.
Don,
When I do pinstriping on my friends stuff he paints, I do not add
any catylist. But if you want to you can. The cool thing about HOK
striping paints is that when they dry you can not feel any ridge at all!
I have had good luck with HOK. There are a few colors that are hard to cover in one stroke. Such as silver and gold. I guess it depends on the batch also.
Be sure when you are done to really clean your brush out all the way to
the heel. Dry it and oil it. Leaving brushes dry even though they are clean
will cause the hairs to be brittle and break and kink. You can also get cheaper
white synthetic liner bruses to work with also. The only thing with HOK is that
if you make a mistake its not a wipe off deal as easy as OneShot. I use alittle
rubbing compund or reducer or even fine wet and dry paper. On slick baked on
surfaces you need to add hardener so it will bite the surface beter. As far as
a wax and grease remover I use a product called Rapid Prep. Its an orange organic type or prep sol with citrus ingredents. For pulling lines I like to use 1/8" tape and rest middle finger on to guide. And also there is nothing wrong
with doing a simple grid to make sure all your work is in line.
Hope this helps. Some others as well has used HOK also.
