Clearing over 1 Shot is very dicy, even when the hardener is used, as it has a tendency to wrinkle. The good news is 1 shot doesn't need to be cleared, it is very durable. If you must bury the pinstripe under clear than HOK urathane striping emamal must be used and it must be cleared. HOK is less user friendly as like all uros it pretty much dries on contact. 1 Shot stays wet long enough to wipe off a mistake and try again. I use 1 Shot 90% of the time as do many stripers.
The X-calibr is a good beginning brush, personally I much prefer the Mack series 10. I would advise starting with a 000 or 00 size with either the Mack or the X-caliber. Yet another choice is the Kafka #3 scroling brush, This brush turns very tight curves and can be used to do scrols as well as old school style stripes. hope this helps and good luck. AL
