Re: A couple of new ones
Thanks for the kind comments, that is the inspiration I need to make me practice harder and focus.
For those two panels I used a Kafka #3 for the scroll one with 1Shot sign paint. Ive tried several scrolling brushes and in my opinion the Kafka is in a class by itself. Ive only started using it since Steve came out with his DVD, maybe six months? I highly reccommend the Kafka brushes and the DVD. The Kafka's are also good for doing those tight flame loops.
The other one (red and yellow panel) was done with a Mack series 10 size 000 and also 1Shot paint. The Kafka is much more user friendly but the Mack is a useful brush, especially for long lines, properly loaded it can pull a line the length of a car. It is the tool most of the old skool hot rod pin stripes were done with by the likes of Big Daddy Roth, El Vago, Bobbo Dunn and the many other legendary stripers
Darla, I don't know if I will ever make a dime at it. If so then fine. A lot of floks dont appreciate the hand striping and lettering work (Im sure youve felt the sting of the computer graphic in your sign work). I just have a passion for anything that has to do with old skool hot rod and motorcycle art work. AL
