I wouldn't dump anything..but I rarely thin with water..when I did some time ago it led to all kinds of clotting & nasty smelling mold..If its all thick & strange I would cut it with acrylic floor finish (I use Min-Wax, but it's about $14 a quart)--I've heard you can use Future acrylic floor polish sold at Walmart or groceries & I'm anxious to try that.. It would be a lot cheaper..I cut mine till it's creamy & smooth & if it needs further thinning I use Fantastic window spray--I've gotten away from water all together..I have a small battery operated hand mixer that I stir away with..I don't know how bad it is, but you might save all of it..
