Blueshark, It was explained to me that you want to be further away from the compressor to allow the air to cool and the moisture in the air to condense and seperate. Warm air right from the compressor does not allow this. Worse case I guess coiling a longer hose on the floor aould give ou your "distance".

I'm a newbie so take this with a grain of salt. Just passing along what I have heard.
