Another old trick is to wear an old shirt when you are laying down your frisket.
Peel the backing off the frisket, then apply the frisket to your shirt, rub it a little, then pull it away carefully and place it where you wanted it.
This act takes off the bulk of the really sticky stuff, and most of the stuff that would have been left behind on your project.
Try it with some scrap material before you get into a project.

As far as one company making all the masking material, I know that's not true, if it was, everyone would have the same problems regardless of which brand name they bought it under.

The heavier weights of the material lend themselves better to the removal and reuse routine.

The heat trick is a good one, it is also helpful when you are trying to lay masking down on a compound curve or complex shape.
