Default adhesive residue

I have been using badger frisket film and have been having a problem with residual adhesive. I did read somewhere that most friskets sold here in the US are made by the same company just packaged under different brands. I have two questions:
1: How do i clean the piece after removing the frisket without damaging what I have done? I am using reduced acrylic paints which dry waterproof. Could I just wipe it down with soapy water, or do I even need to clean before clearing? I am using gesso canvas boards.
2: Is there anything I can do stop reduce this in the future without sacrificing the integrity of the frisket? I have used tracing paper sprayed with 3m repostionable adhesive before but find frisket easier to use as it doesn't tear (as much) when removing it. I also tried the 3m stuff with regular cling wrap but that didn't work very well- really hard to remove because it tears so easilywhen removing and moves around making cutting difficult.
