Both company make some fine airbrushes.
From the sounds of it, you are trying to loosen or remove the screw that holds the packing/seal/needle bearing, and to be honest, that is one of a few parts you should probably not be messing with. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that you try to know and understand your airbrush, but there are pieces that you will probably never have to mess with, and that are better left alone. This is one of them.
The areas you will need to know and feel comfortable with are the: needle cap, the nozzle cap, the nozzle, the needle, the trigger, the auxillary lever, the needle chuck, the needle chucking nut, the spring, the spring tensioner, and possibly the handle. There are several variations on the handle, so depending upon which one you have, you may or may not have things to muck about with.
Always do your disassembly/cleaning over a contained area, such as a baking pan or bowl, this keeps your parts and mess in a nice, neat little area.
